Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)

First aid plays a crucial role in workplace safety. Under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, employers are legally required to ensure that employees receive immediate attention if they become ill or injured at work. This includes appointing an adequate number of trained first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training to meet workplace needs.

Who is this course for?

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification is designed for individuals appointed as first aiders in the workplace. It is also ideal for those with a designated responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary or community settings.

Course Overview

Delivered over three days, this course provides learners with the essential skills and knowledge to confidently handle a variety of first aid emergencies, including:

  • Assessing an incident

  • Managing an unresponsive casualty

  • Performing CPR

  • Responding to heart attacks, choking, and anaphylaxis

  • Treating head, spinal, and fracture injuries

  • And more...

Assessment & Certification

  • Assessments: 7 practical assessments + 2 multiple-choice theory exams

  • Certification: Successful learners receive an e-Certificate upon results submission (subject to Centre’s Direct Claims Status). ​
